What We've Been Up To
Leatherneck Ball
This last month, The Semper True North Foundation was able to attend the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation's 60th annual Leatherneck Ball. It was a great reminder of the sacrifices of our Marines and their children.
Stay In Step Week
This last month, The Semper True North Foundation sponsored our partner Stay In Step for a week of fundraising in New York. We hosted two fundraising events and multiple meetings to help them gain funds for their new facility.
SOFIC Conference
The Semper True North Foundation was able to attend the SOFIC Conference in Tampa Bay, FL. The event was a great success as we connected with many veteran advocates around the nation.
Last Out Fundraiser
The Semper True North Foundation was able to attend The Heroes Journey's fundraising event for their film "Last Out". The fundraiser had a great turnout and helped bring awareness to their film.
Soldiers' Angels Food Distribution
The Semper Capital Management L.P. Orlando Team were able to feed over 210 veterans and their families this last month at the Soldiers Angels' food distribution in Orlando. They both sponsored and volunteered at the event.
The mission of True North, to make a positive contribution to the veteran community and inspire our peers to prioritize charitable actions, is more important than ever. The COVID-19 crisis has caused widespread uncertainty and stress, and for our nation's heroes recovering from physical injuries, seeking treatment for PTS, seeking meaningful employment, or simply providing for their families, this pandemic has exacerbated the challenges they already face. Physical distancing and social isolation have increased the need for support, and we remain committed to the partnerships that embody our True North.
As part of our mission, we strive to connect veterans and their families with the support they need. If you, or someone you know, seeks resources to help navigate the challenges of veteran transition, please let us know here.
